This week is GIB week! With the chapel being one large room with no walls or dividers within it, bracing is a little more challenging than in a typical build. Part of the solution involved installing a steel portal in the middle of the build, another part was to make almost exclusive use GIB braceline on the walls and ceiling. For GIB braceline to function as a bracing element, it needs to be installed with a lot more screws that follow a particular preset pattern. This means that instillation is much slower than typical GIB. But, the builders are making good progress, the GIB should be completed this week, with the GIB stoppers arriving early next week!
But, before the GIB could be installed, the youth were given permanent markers and encouraged to write words or scriptures that relate to what they would like to see happen in that space, or what they believe God wants to do within it. You can see some of those words, scriptures, and pictures below.
