For the Youth

Village Baptist is a spiritual home that youth can own

Nothing gives us joy like seeing our youth step into leadership and thrive. That’s why we are committed to growing our youth, and supporting them into roles that they can own.

On Sunday

About twenty minutes into the Sunday Service our intermediates and year 9s leave for their programmes. There they will have a space where they can talk about the unique challenges they face, while also learning about the grand narrative of scripture.

INT. youth
(School Years 7-8)

This programme uses a curriculum that engages the intermediate aged kids with a Christian perspective on current issues they face, such as: What does God have to say about friendships? Family life? Money? And School?

What’s with?
(School year 9)

This group meets during the Church service to really dive deeper into the history of the Bible, investigating questions like: how does the New Testament relate to the Old Testament?

During the week

10UP TUESDAYS

(Year 10 – Year 13)

Every Monday Night during School Term.
From 7pm-9pm, in the Church Ministry Centre.

Our year 10-year 13 gather on Monday nights to hang out, grow together, and explore the word of God. Each week we hang out, play some games, and study a particular passage, finishing the night off in prayer.

7UP FRIDAYS

(Year 7 – Year 9)

Every other Friday during the School Term.
From 7-8.45pm.

The Friday Fortnight’s happen every second Friday with the purpose of deepening relationships to help our intermediate aged kids transition into the youth programme. Join the Int. Youth facebook page for up to date events.

10UP SOCIALS

(Year 10 – Year 13)

Every other Friday during the School Term.
From 7pm-9pm.

The Friday Night Social alternates with 7up. It’s somewhere the youth can deepen their relationships together and be a casual space which they can feel comfortable inviting their friends.

Annual Camps

E-Camp

(Year 7 – Year 9)

Every year over the Easter weekend, our intermediates go to E-Camp. Held at Finlay Park, E-Camp is a place where our intermediates gather with 900 others, for crazy fun, and spiritual growth.

Easter Camp

(Year 10 – Year 13)

Every year during the Easter weekend, our youth join over 4000 others at Mystery Creek. There they have 5 days of games, activities, socialising, along with regular sessions of worship and teaching.

xtend

During June of every year a group of our young people go to Xtend. Xtend is a camp run by Baptist Youth Ministries. It is a place where the youth receive intentional discipleship, to help them grow in their faith and God given gifts.
