Village Baptist is a spiritual home that youth can own
Nothing gives us joy like seeing our youth step into leadership and thrive. That’s why we are committed to growing our youth, and supporting them into roles that they can own.
About twenty minutes into the Sunday Service our intermediates leave for their progrmmes. There they will have a space where they can talk about the unique challenges intermediates face, while also learning about the grand narrative of scripture.
(School Years 7-8)
This programme uses a curriculum that engages the intermediate aged kids with a Christian perspective on current issues they face, such as: What does God have to say about friendships? Family life? Money? And School?
(School year 9)
This group meets during the Church service to really dive deeper into the history of the Bible, investigating questions like: how does the New Testament relate to the Old Testament?
During the week
Tuesday Night Study
Every Tuesday night during the school term.
From 7pm in the Church foyer.
The Tuesday Night Study is designed to be a safe place for the youth to be themselves. This creates a space where they can feel free to explore the Christian faith more deeply.
Usually, these evenings follow a similar pattern. They begin with a social time, with food and games, followed by a video study, and small group discussion.
Every other Friday during the School Term.
From 6-8pm, in the Church Ministry Centre
The Fort-Nights happen every second Friday with the purpose of deepening relationships to help our intermediate aged kids transition into the youth programme. They begin with a $5 dinner, followed by the evening’s activities. Once a term, they will join the youth program for a joint evening.
Friday Night Social
Every Friday night during the school term.
The Friday Night Social is focused on being a social event. It’s somewhere the youth can deepen their relationships together, and be a casual space which they can feel comfortable inviting their friends.
Every Friday Night is different, with different programmes happening in different places. To find out what will be happening over the next term make sure you touch base with Stu Hastings, our youth leader.
Every year over the Easter weekend, our intermediates go to E-Camp. Held at Finlay Park, E-Camp is a place where our intermediates gather with 900 others, for crazy fun, and spiritual growth.
Every year during the Easter weekend, our youth join over 2000 others at Finlay Park. There they have 5 days of games, activities, socialising, along with regular sessions of worship and teaching.
During June of every year a group of our young people go to Xtend. Xtend is a camp run by Baptist Youth Ministries. It is a place where the youth receive intentional discipleship, to help them grow in their faith and God given gifts.
