Well… how about that!?

Building Back Better Background (3)

Last week we had the final run to the finish line. During that week, we saw (just about) everything completed in stage one, enabling our ‘flatpacks and lunch’ event to take place on Saturday 27th July. This event saw a team from church building the furniture and preparing the rooms before their first outing the next day. As part of the official opening on Sunday, the whole church went out with the kids to see their new rooms. Needless to say, there was a lot of excitement and positive comments.

While these rooms were built with kids’ ministry in mind, they were also designed to be multi-purpose. So, we were also excited to see these spaces not only used for Kids’ ministry on Sunday, but by the youth on Tuesday, and a small group on Thursday.

To this point, our primary focus has been on completing stage one of our Building Back Better plan. But now stage one is largely finished, we can turn our full attention to the next step. Where stage one saw the redevelopment of flood-damaged rooms, stage two will see the removal of the church cottage, and replaced with a partially renovated transportable classroom. Between stages one and two, we believe that we will have all the space needed to accommodate the next 20 years of ministry growth.
