The following week saw the first visit from our insurance assessor and the completion of property assessments by electricians, plumbers, and builders. The result of this was discovering that some of the clean-up would be more involved than previously understood. In the case of the kids ministry rooms, more gib would need to be removed from the walls, which would then require water blasting with hot disinfectant. Unfortunately, due to the additional cleaning work required, and some developing health and safety concerns regarding contaminated silt, we had to delay returning to in-person services for another week.
This week also saw the first donation from another church. This donation came from Maungaraki Baptist Church based in Lower Hutt. This was a big moral boost, as it reminded us that we were not alone.
